Over the last couple of years Australia has voted for three ethnic Australian Idol winners, including a native New Zealander. It has also voted in an ethnic Fijian as winner of Big Brother, and put a native Thursday Island boy as star of the latest Qantas commercial, advertising both the airline and the country.

i guess technically speaking Mark Vincent really had a little edge over Jal so let’s welcome the decision they are both very talented kids its just that one should win a very tiny edge over the other.

A New Zealander won Australia Idol last year. A previous winners of Australian Idol has been a full blooded Aboriginal, Casey Donovan, with another winner, Damien Leith, being Irish.
