@akissy They were a part of his dancing style and there are shoes who don’t glide as easily as dress shoes so yes, it helps a bit. Although he used boots etc. as well He also wore white socks because he want to bring attention to his footwork – which was brilliant. MJ imitators wear similar outfit, because they want to imitate him to a t (although no one can).
