Obamacare: Taxing The American People Into Oblivion Steve Watson and Paul Watson www.Prisonplanet.com http Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010 HR 3590, The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, to give it its full title, is rammed full of tax increases which will further economically cripple Americans already laboring under the worst financial crisis since the great depression. The partnering Reconciliation Act, currently in the Senate, also contains a raft of pork barrel and tax hikes, there to fund the trillion dollar cost of nationalizing medicine. As reported by Bloomberg News today, analysis by the nonpartisan congressional Joint Committee on Taxation reveals that the bill will generate 9.2 billion in additional taxes by 2019. In addition, the Congressional Budget Office states that the bill also levies almost billion more in penalties for those who fail to meet mandates to buy insurance. The Journal of Accountancy boils down some of the tax hikes and penalty fees in HR 3590 and the Reconciliation Act the highlights include: Excise Tax on Uninsured Individuals Individuals who fail to maintain minimum essential coverage will be subject to a penalty equal to 0. The fee for an uninsured individual under age 18 is one-half of the adult fee. Excise Tax on High-Cost Employer Plans The federal government would impose a 40% tax on the value of employer-sponsored health coverage exceeding certain thresholds. UPDATE AT THE END!!! (9/20/09) HISTORY: Formed by actress Ming Na, the group At Last labels their style of music hiphopapella – a blend of some hip hip and R&B with some beatboxing. The group originally consisted of 5 people but on their members eventually left. The group still went around the country looking to share their talent with people. America’s Got Talent was quite possibly the group’s most successful way to get themselves exposed nationally. So popular was their appearance that they decided to re-release their album Slow Down. You can still buy their music from their official website : www.atlastmusic.com AFTER AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: Though the group was able to reach some success appearing on America’s Got Talent, many did not know what happened to them afterwards. Well here’s the scoop: One of the members, DJ Say, decided to leave At Last and decided to take his musical career solo. After he left, the remaining members, Hans, Mike and Justin have decided to form a new group called “Tatum Jones” in honor of their great friend that passed away. At Last’s myspace went defunct. CURRENTLY: Tatum Jones has an EP out called “The Love Movement” which features brand new songs with a very similar style of music to At Last’s. DJ Say has been doing covers of some popular songs. I tried contacting Tatum Jones via their myspace page and wanted to know what really went down between At Last, did DJ Say leave on amicable terms or was there some drama behind the scenes? Alas …
