This inspirational performance was at a time before the YouTube phenomina had hit the world as seen with Britains Got Talent. His risk paid off and The Prayer was recorded by Anthony a few weeks after Idol (produced by John Foreman)and went on to become the Highest & Fastest selling single by an Australian artist ever (a record that still remains nearly 5 years on) he also held the No.1 spot on the Australian Aria charts (US Billboard equivalent) for an amazing 5 weeks straight. This performance includes Judges comments by Marcia Hines, Mark Holden & Ian “Dicko” Dickson.. Mark Holden’s only ever Grand Royal Touchdown was awarded to Anthony for his performance, and also left Dicko speechless, which is no mean feat. Anthony’s performance was one that stopped the nation and had the Judges,audience and viewers stunned and all the next week & beyond it was being talked about around every water cooler in the country and is still used as a measure to this day of defining Idol moments past & present.
